Photron, Inc.'s, from the Fastcam SA high speed camera family, Range Version (RV) hardware can extend the normal operating temperature range of the Fastcam SA5 and Fastcam SA2 cameras. The new sealed case design makes the camera models impervious to dirt, dust, and sand. Photron’s RV option includes two serviceable external fans that direct cooling air over the sealed camera body; this keeps the operating temperature stable and makes it is ideal for high speed imaging in harsh environments. Optional DC battery pack and a remote keypad with a built-in LCD viewfinder, the new Range Version high speed camera systems are perfectly configured for any outdoor or field operation.
Photron’s Fastcam SA5 camera is a high speed imaging system that provides up to 7,500 frames per second (fps) at mega pixel resolution (1,024 x 1,000); it is capable of delivering over 1 million frames per second at reduced resolution. The standalone, one-piece imaging system has a 12-bit monochrome, 36-bit RGB color sensor which features 20 micron square pixels, for superior dynamic range and highest color fidelity. The SA5 is available now with the dust-free, sealed Range Version option for in-field use and/or rugged environments.
The Fastcam SA2 is a 12-bit, four megapixel, CMOS camera that delivers up to 1,000 fps at full pixel resolution ( 2K x 2K), 1080 HDTV resolution up to 2,000 fps, with additional speeds and resolutions available, depending on customer needs. This system is available with either a PL lens or a B4 lens mount, and provides superior color fidelity, exceptional light sensitivity and crisp image quality, making it popular for slow-motion imaging in sports and entertainment broadcasting. Easy to operate and/or integrate into new or existing systems, the Range Version configuration is also ideal for aerospace, automotive testing, air bag development and test, ballistics, missile, and combustion testing.
